Does follow to join only apply to spouses that are not already in US?
Can it ever be used for spouse already in the country and on say f1?
Does follow to join always require consular processing?

If there is a way to add F1 spouse already in US to an i-485 that has already been submitted. What happens to the original I-485 application that i filed solo last year?
note-I have also read the follow to join link in this section,and although a few people have been in my situation i have yet to read an answer that clearly and precisely addresses there problem. perhaps sponsoring my spouse is the only way.
