Can anyone share your FOLLOW-TO-JOIN experience from Vermont service center. Currently it looks like they are 1 year back log. Does the I-824 take sooner than that ?

I plan to get married next month, and want to file I-824. Need to prepare myself and my wife for the wait period.

Fiancee is in India currently (I will have to go thru the consular route) and I am working on EAD.

Looks like VSC is processing feb27-2002, I guess it moved only 5 days in last several months. But some people here posted messages saying that you could contact consulate directly with a I-824 receipt notice.

Lawyer said 6-12months time lag between my approval and wife's approval, in email reply

Need to speak in person to get more specific detaills. Will find out if I can take my approval notice directly to consulate and get wifes stamping (i.e even prior to I-824 approval)
 
someone told be before its 3 months from approval. But please post what you find. 6 to 1 year from the date of application for I-824, just a guess
