Hi Guru's
Thanks for your insight on CP. I have applied for my CP . I got 140 approved and submited my case to NVC and expecting them to send me the reciept for payment and later the Packet 3 forms.
Now my Questions are as follows
1 ) I am thinking that my interview may be scheduled anytime in Sep or Oct.
can I get married just before that (probably a week before the interview date) and apply for my would-be's green card also.
for this I saw that we have to file a DS-130 form earlier so that the consulate will have an idea of who my would-be is.

am I right in this context ? I was talking to my lawyer and he was saying mine was unique case , but after reading these forums most of us are in the same boat.

Can you please advice what can be my next best course of action.

if the above situatuion is not fine, can you please suggest me ways of bringing my would-be here.

{This is possible. You should probably intimate the consulate by
mailing them a filled DS 230- Part I + copy of marriage certificate ect. and also get some kind of email confirmation from them acknowledging the fact that they can include your wife for the interview process. You would need this confirmation to show at the time of medical appointments and for entering the consulate. }

Hi
Thanks for your Responses , I am still having a couple of questions
when I file for my packet 3 ,should I have mention anything about my maritial status ? and what is PCC ? should I have to be concerned about it ?

So the best case scenario would be assuming my Interview is on Sep 15
can I do the following steps

1 ) get married on Sep 05
2 ) I can send the DS 130 Part 1 form to US Consulate in Chennai and get an email confirmation
3 ) Do the Medical Exam for me and my would-be
4 ) Take all the reports and go with my woul-be wife to the consulate.

are the above mentioned steps right or my would-be could just file the DS 130 Part 1 with a letter from me saying that I am going to be married to her

When Should I do this ?

Thanks

PCC is Police Clearance Certificate.

If you are in US, the one from Indian consulate will suffice.

For your spouse (presumably in India), will need to get a PCC from RPO and local police station.

{As one of the above posts suggested, do research the forum to find
cases similar to yours. You will state your marital status at the time of
filling the form, which would be 'Single' or 'Un-married'}}

can I do the following steps

{As I mentioned above it is DS 230- Part I and not DS 130}
3 ) Do the Medical Exam for me and my would-be

{By this time I presume she would be your wife and not would-be}
4 ) Take all the reports and go with my woul-be wife to the consulate.

{We know you mean your wife and not your would-be}

are the above mentioned steps right or my would-be could just file the DS 130 Part 1 with a letter from me saying that I am going to be married to her

{I don't think she can send any forms to the consualte before the
marriage}

When Should I do this ?

Thanks

Hi
Thanks for your insight on all these developements.
Still I have lot of haunting questions , I would greatly appreciate if a guru can send his/her number to my email address krishwork@yahoo.com so that I can talk to the guru and get enlightened.

My questions are based on this follow-to-join and do I really have to get a PCC ?
I am in the US for the past 5 and half years.
also please guide me on the list of documents required for CP

in Follow-to-join , based on the info above will my wife get her passport stamped immedietly or she has to wait for 60 days before she gets her visa stamped.
I am readign a lot of places and sort of confused

Documents reqd. for CP are all over the forum. I have links to 2 v. good posts for documents in the tread http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=119885

PCC is required for Consular Processing case, regular/AC140/FTJ/Family/.... So your spouse will have to get a PCC.

What is the 60 days item? If your spouse goes for FTJ, nothing in the Passport will be stamped. On approval, she will get a packet with visa stapled on the front.

SO Once my wife comes with me to consulate with the DS 230 form 1 , she signs the form there and we present all the neccesary information to the Consulate including the weddign invitation , photos and related documents.

Can she come with me when I am coming back or she has to wait for her case to be approved. Will her case be approved along with mine.

Please be patient if I ask some stupid questions

Once you attend the interview together your cases would be approved
together.

For coming into US:

a) You both must enter US within 180 days from the date of approval.

b) You both can travel together OR you can come first and she can come
later. (Your wife cannot come before you)

So if you are going to consulate together, Why it is a FTJ case?

Hi
Thanks for the information , I was under the impression that me going to India and gettign married and taking my wife to the consulate (everything happening within a month ) is like a FTJ

So the Bottom Line of the entire Topic can be summarized as follows

1 ) Make sure your would-be's documents are all set (including her PCC,Birth Certificate etc)
2) Take your DS-230 Part 1 form with you.
3 ) After your marriage send that form along with a copy of the marriage certificate to the US Consulate and get the Confirmation (in the form detail your MDR request number in the letter)
4 ) get married and enjoy your honey moon
5 ) go to the consulate with your wife and all the specified documents.
and complete the CP interview.

the only part which I am little hesitant about is the third part.
can someone please eloabarate on how to do this ?

1 ) Like show me the way of getting PCC for my would-be in chennai ?
2 )does the consulate recongnize the form which has been sent by post .

Is there anyone I can talk to ? Please.
Krishna

Make sure both parts of no. 5 are properly accomplished. ;)

Sorry I meant no. 4 ... both parts. ;)
