FOIA Request

Did anybody send FOIA request recently and got a confirmation?

I sent G-639 form(FOIA request) to get ETA and 140 documents about a month ago and did not get any confirmation back from the service center.

I read in this forum that people who submitted the request got a confirmation with in weeks from the service center.

Wondering whats going on with my request.

Is there a seperate phone number/Email for the FOIA department in Vermont service center?

I mailed in my application on June 8th, which was received by VSC on June 10th. I recently got a confirmation from the National Records Center saying that they received my application on July 1st. I am hoping another 8-12 weeks until I get my records.

Did you have to wait for a month before you get the confirmaton?

I am thinking of filing another request. (I have sent the original one by just a regular mail. This time I will send a registered one.)

It is taking about 5months to receive the FOIA request.. hope this will help..
for every 2 weeks there is a movement of 1000 applications..
