Flying to Mexico City with RTD & GC

I know this question has been asked before, but a search of the forum has not uncovered any first hand experiences of people who have actually done it without getting a visa. I know you can do it by car as I have done it while living in Arizona. Please share your experiences of what it was like to fly with just RTD and GC.
