Get a flight and go.... I wouldn't know what the problem is (especially since you already got your greencard).

I just got GC few weeks ago, and have not travel abroad since came to this country as student (then converted to worker visa). Anyone has experience (in detail) when flying out from US? Simply bring the GC?

yes, all u need is ur greencard. It would be scanned by airline folks at departure and scanned by immigrations on arrival. Passport and greencard, thats all you need.

When u arrived in US poe, I believe you got a immigrant visa stamping validation for 1 year. I know u said u already have your GC plastic, but just as an FYI to others, you can still exit the US and re-enter with your passport stamping for a period of 1 yr after your initial entry.

now, if u expect to stay outside US longer than 1 yr, then definately make sure your GC plastic is in your posession, and apply for permission (cant remember the form number/name) before you leave.

Excellent. Thanks Johnkent.

i just got back from Europe about 10days ago and i went thru passport check(immigrations) within 2 mins. The homeland security guy scanned my greencard, asked me how long i was gone and that was it. very very easy. no questions asked.
