First Time H4

Hello,

Do we need to take appointment for applying H4 visa for first time? I am getting married on Dec 3rd ,it looks like all the dates In chennai consulate are booked, can I use drop box facility for first Time H4 visa or does the same rule apply for H4 like first time H1B which requires a appointment

Any help is appreciated.

Congrats for your marriage!!! Yes appointment is necessary for new H4 visa.
