First time H1 stamping in ottawa

I have an appointment on june 16 at 8 AM for first time visa stamping for H1
Can i get the receipt for visa issuance fee from scotia bank in NY or do I have to get in canada.
As my appointment is at 8AM on monday Iam concerened the scotia bank in ottawa would not be open that early and i will have to be in canada on friday before 5PM to get the receipt
Please advise
 
You need to get bank draft in canada itself. I have appointment on June 16th 10.00am so for that reason i am going to Canada on friday morning, thinking of getting bank draft and wait weekend there.
 
I have just a question: can one get first time H1b stamping in a country other than native country?
I am from India, and last year one company applied H1b for me, then they told that I need to travel to India to get it stamped which can not be done from Canada.
Please correct me.

Are you currently living in the US on a valid Visa? In that case, yes - you can get the H-1B stamped in Canada (other than Halifax, NS consulate).
