H-1B stamping in Canada
My H-1 B petition has been approved with a start date of 10/1/2007 with consular processing .

I will be completing my residency on 6/30/2007 however my J-1 has been extended till 8/31/2007 to allow me to take my boards.

Q: Will it be OK for me to go to a US consulate in Canada for H-1 B processing say around 7/15/2007.

Q: If my H-1B is stamped with a start date of 10/1/2007. Will I still be able to re-enter the US based on my valid DS-2019 and stamped j-1 visa.

Q: is it better for me to go directly to India for H-1B stamping.

Please advise

Answers to your questions below:
1. Yes but not at Quebec City.
2. Not sure - Others, please add here.
3. Going to India is slightly better as you don't have to face the question: Why do you want to validate in Canada and not at your home country? Moreover, U.S. Consulates in Canada cannot evaluate the educational credentials if they are outside of U.S.A. (or Canada). In this case please take the educational evaluation with you.

Please see the website www.amcits.com for details.
