Hello, thank you for reading.

Ok going to redo this because it was to long.

My friend met his wife last January, they got married 5 months later, filed for a green card about 2-3 months after that. got the interview at the end of October.
His wife apparently started going drugs a month or two before when she would go visit her folks for the weekend and, would just make stuff about why she would sleep all the time. And went to the interview while she was on something and completely bombed it. She screwed up even on basic questions about her, and where she used to live and so fourth. Immediately right there, they got the stokes interview notice in 2 weeks. She didn't even go home, she went to her parents house and haven't been heard from since.

What can my friend possibly do? is there something he can file to move the interview back or anything like that. She pretty much screwed him cause she was on drugs and doesn't seem to give a crap.

Thank You

Looks like you married a drug addict and your marriage does not sound to be bonafide.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!

I've heard of similar things before.
First off, to push the stokes back you would need an attorney I believe, and fast because 2 weeks will fly by very fast. Never actually heard of stokes being 2 weeks after the first interview.
Second i THINK i heard of there being options for incidents like that. One would be a battered spouse which i would assumes since your friend is the husband that's not the case. Second i think there is a petition that deals with a spouse stealing money or using drugs which the husband didn't know about. Your friend could try to argue that she was using drugs lied to him about it, and was under the influence during the interview, but i believe that in both cases she would have to actually admit to it and sign a paper stating that. Which i wouldn't imagine many people do.

Its sad to see lives ruined because of incidents like that. Its hard to judge with out knowing the wife's side but from what you said what she did was very cruel. I hope it all works out for your friend, best of luck and i hope this was of some help.

The marriage was legit, i met her the same time he did, she certainly wasn't an addict. He moved to a different state, didn't bother renewing his Student visa because she said it would be a waste of effort and money. They lived together for 7 months, and knows each other for almost 11 months. of which only about 2 seemed out of place but were dismissed as allergies, cold, fly and other bs reasons.

Thank you Rov, ill talk to him and tell him all that and hopefully he'll get a competent attorney to help. But like you said, i just don't see her signing anything like that. And yes its very sad because Alex isn't a bad guy, he works pretty hard and is almost done with a B.A in computer Science, hes just dumb when it comes to seeing when hes being used and lied to apparently.

Thank You.

Does a "battered spouse" not apply to men just like to women? They married for love and she screw him over, right?

He married her for love, and i do believe she did so too in the beginning. But i have no idea what happened.
