first and last names interchanged in passport

My first and last names are interchaanged in passport and I did not have any problem due to it until 485. Now I have to get it corrected/solved. Anybody with similar experience and how did you solve it?

This may be a common problem for indians.

I would appreciate your responses.

i guess you shd call passport office and talk to them
my friend had such issue and he got it resolved after filling form/ paying fees and getting it rectified.
