Finling N400 in another city in the state?

Hi,
i am up for filing N400 in about 8 months.
Question - Living in city A, can I send in my N400 requesting to be processed in City B 150 miles away if i have relatives/friends there. the difference in processing time is a year vs a month (from FP to oath.)

Anyone tried anything like this? (do we even have a choice of district office? or is it the address you mention in the application?)

What are the obvious and potential scenarios/risks? (with FBI checks to begin with)

hey dont beat me up. idle mind + boredom waiting=speculating :D

Thx,
tigger

BTW, where did you hear it takes only a month. That's incorrect, it sometimes takes more than a month just to receive Receipt of your application (NOA) !!!

thanks guys.

i wonder what proof would involve showing "3 months stay in a city.." ..

phillydude, if you reread i said 1 month from FP to Oath..

There's really no proof that's attached to the N-400, but its quite possible the interviewer may ask you to prove that you indeed lived at your address ( copies of lease/mortgage, utilities, bank statements or even the AR-11). Plus the discrepancy may be quite apparent since you also have to list where you work ( doubt the interviewer would accept you commuting 150 miles each way every day)

If you dont have the proof, its quite likely your N-400 will be back to square one and you'll have wasted a considerable amount of time- not to mention the interviewer may find this fraudulent if you never stayed there in the first place.
