Hi all
Here I come with another question
Some history:
I live in North Carolina and I applied for asylum dec. 2007. Went on an interview Jan 31st and they sent me to an immigration judge. My date was March 4th in Atlanta and they scheduled the individual hearing for February 2009 and also gave me a Fingerprint Appointment notice stating that I have to go get my fingerprints taken in Atlanta (there is an address on the notice) before January 1st 2009 (there is not an exact date and time - just to go there and bring with me the appointment notice from the court)
Today I received another application notice to go to Phoenix AZ for my fingerprints and the appointment date is 15th of April 2008.
I caled my attorney to ask him why they would send me another application for fingerprints if I already have one from the court. What he told me was that probably his assistants requested on my behalf for an appointment and since he lives in Phoenix AZ that's why they want me to go there. He also told me that if I already have an appointment from the court - I should ignore this second one for phoenix AZ. This appointment doesn't have any receipt number and I haven't sent any applications or requesting for fingerprints appointment.
I also called the 1-800 number on that appointment and they couldn't give me any information - after holding me on the phone for 40 minutes they said they could reschedule it for some place that is closer to me. When I asked if I MUST go to that appointment - they couldn't answer me and instead gave me the phone number of the office where I went for the interview with the immigration judge.
I don't know what to do now. Shall I just ignore it as my attorney told me or sent it back with a copy of the appointment notice given me by the court - just to show tem that I already have an appointment made. (though it doesn't have a certain date on it)
Another thing is that I can't go from NC to AZ on such a short notice.
Any advice or answer is welcome
Thanks
