Fingerprinting for Australia Police Clearance

Thank you in advance for reading my posting.

I had lived in Australia for a few years before coming to the USA. I need to send fingerprints to Australia in order to get Police clearance. I am unable to locate any place in California where I can get fingerprints in hard-copy format.
Will request any response to suggest where I can get fingerprint in hard copy.

I was in the same situation myself. I went to my county police station (I am located in Virginia) who were able to fingerprint me on FBI form 258 for a $5 fee. I found instructions and guidance on the county website. I sent this with the items required for a Criminal History Check to the Australian Federal Police (www.afp.gov.au) -- they have full instructions on their website.

I have just had an Australian clearance, Sent them my fingerprints (taken at our local Police station) and ther fee $115 AU waited a week and the emailed them and they sent the letter out a week later, Good luck

Police clrearance from Australia

I am hoping someone still check this thread.

I am totally in the same situation.
I used to live in Australia for about 1 year as a traveler. (Working holiday visa) And I need to get the police clearance to apply for GC.

Now a few questions here.

1) Some people says I just need to get a name check record which is $36.00. Should I really get both fingerprints & Name check? Where can I find these detailed information?

2) I also live in California (LA).
According to LAPD, they don't provide fingerprints.
I wonder where in California amiteshks obtained the hard copy of fingerprints. Or does anyone has any idea?

3) Actually I am waiting for my priority date turns current. (EB-3 unfortunately) Do you know if I can obtain the police clearance more than 1 year in advance? I would like to prepare for any required documents a.s.a.p. Then I can apply for my Green Card right after my PD becomes available.
