Hello all,

The whole family applied for I-485 December 21, 2005. The package was very much complete, with all the filing fees in separate checks (I-485, I-765, I-131). We got the receipt notices plus this one for my spouse.

Receipt Number: SRC05055xxxxx

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

We have determined that there was an insufficient payment for the fingerprint fee for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. On December 21, 2004 we sent you a notice of this, with an opportunity to submit the fee. Your case is being held in suspense until we receive your fingerprint fee. For more information, please refer to the notice we mailed you. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

His original receipt notice stated that they received a total of $385.This means that they indeed got the I-485 and fingerprinting fee. I sent 2 mails (regular and courier) to correct this with the evidence that they cashed the check. I even called their 1-800 #. However, they have not updated my husband's online status, or even sent us any info. Should I be alarmed? They said that if I do not respond to this billing notice in 90 days, they will drop my husband's AOS application. Can somebody help me, please?

You are not alone in this situation, few threads did share this issue.

Because the time and your claim and their response/acknowledge you may see many difficulties and frustration even u paid. if u have doc/evd that FP fee was paid correctly u can claim anytime in future to get refund(would be difficult but not impossible). the Wise act is to just immidiate pay current FP fee or remaining they billed, ....... to get resolved the issue. later u can claim to refund. over FP fee paid.

Don't waste ur precious time not even single day.

Good Luck
