Fingerprinting experience

I have received FP schedule notice on 11/28 dated 11/19. I was scheduled to FP on 12/15. My spouse, who is the primary applicant didn't get the FP notice. We went to Charlotte office on 12/4 Saturday for an early FP. And here is my experience.

We reached the office at 8.15 a.m. or so and was the third in line on a very chilly day. We went in at 8.30 and I joined the line straight since I had my FP notice. My spouse was asked to stay in a different line and later he was asked wait for some time till the manager look at his case. They have collected just Copy of I-485 and Driver's license for my spouse. For me they never asked about the scheduled date or even bother to look at it in my notice. I completed my FP by about 8.45 or so. My spouse was asked to give FP by 9.10 or so. And we were out by 9.20. The end to end process went without any hitch other than the weather.

Here are my observations :

1. Charlotte office is not at all bothered about the scheduled date for FP.
2. They don't insist on having FP. My spouse gave his DL & copy of 485 and that's it. No questions asked.
3. Another person with just copy of I-485 managed to give FP. I'm sure he came in just like that without any letter for FP. He also submitted his DL & I-485 copy. So, people can just give it a try. If (S)he is lucky, one can get her/his FP done without any notice.
4. It seems the best time would be after 10 a.m. Nobody will be there. When we left there were hardly 10 people inside.

Follow UP:

Both myself and my spouse have got our online status message changed to something like "We have received the results of your finger printing on 12/10 and the processing has resumed .......".

Hope this helps.
