Fingerprinting and I-864 Fee

Hi,

I first entered the US on 2002, during which I was inspected and fingerprinted (I vividly recall it, as they didn't use ink, they used a scanner underneath a pane of glass, fully computerized).

Now fast forward to this time, and I'm filing for Adjustment of Status based on Marriage. Do I need to get fingerprinted? Do I need to send in the $80 fee for biometrics?

On the I-864 Form, there is this. "Although USCIS does not charge a fee for this form, the Department of State does charge a fee of $70 when the Affidavit of Support is reviewed domestically. This does not apply when the Affidavit of Support is filed abroad."

Do they mean domestically in the U.S. or state-wise? I'm filing concurrently I-130, I-485, I-864, and I-765. So I'm sending the package to the Chicago Lock-Box, I live in Worcester, MA and will most probably be utilizing the USCIS office in Boston. Does this mean it's still considered domestically or is it based on where I send my packages? Unless ofcourse they meant Domestically inside the U.S. then i'll have to pay the $70 fee for the I-864.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Thanks. Now about the fingerprinting If anyone's got any ideas?

In my I-485 package, I am planning on sending two separate checks one for $930 and another for $80 for biometrics. If they find out that I don't need biometrics, will they send back just the $80 check or will they return the entire package?

According to my experience you will be fingerprinted again. I was fingerprinted when I for my GC as well as when I got my citizenship, and both the times I paid the biometrics fees.

You will be fingerprinted again and will need to pay the biometrics fee. Just send one check for $1010 instead of two for $930 + $80.
