I was fingerprinted in Jan 2002 and I called FBI today. The lady who answered the call just said that my fingerprints have been processed and the results transmitted on Jan. 31. She was unwilling to explain what that means.

Can anybody explain what this means?

It means they could get readable fingerprints and have sent to TSC after processing. They will not tell more than this. Usually, this means your FP is cleared. You can call TSC to verify whether they have received your FP info from FBI or not. Good luck.
 
FBI Transmitting does not necessarily mean it is cleared

All that the FBI will tell is whether or not the results are transmitted to INS. When I and my wife did the FP, and called FBI they said it has been transmitted to INS. They wouldn\'t say any thing more. Later I found from TSC that my wife\'s prints were not clear and she has to do again. Waiting for the notice to repeat FP.
