Fingerprint troubles need help

Last year I got a fingerprint. However when I checked my case from USCIS website, it still said: "On April 16, 2004, the fingerprints for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were collected and are pending review." When I called CIS for this situation several times, a lady always told me this case was under FBI criminal checks.

My question is:

1. Why does the review take such a long time? No signs indicate it will be finished soon.

2. Usually how long time is for this review?

3. If this is not finished on my priority date for asylee adjustment, does CIS will process my case or not?

4. How can I speed up the review process?

Thank you for your help in advance

My ND is in May 2001

The standard time to get the FBI clearance is 2-3 days.Your case is almost a year in the hands of the FBI and your case won't be processed by CIS until you get the FBI clearance.
Write to your congress man as soon as possible to get the issue with FBI solved.I hope your background is clear,if not you have a problem brother!!!

Thank you

Thank you for your help, Gebre.

I will take your advice and have a try. But I really don't predict the future results.

I still hope some persons who have experences on this issue could share with me on how to solve this problem in their past. Thank you so much.
