I spoke with an IIO on 11/25 (last monday). Very nice and cordial lady. She was absolutely stunned that I had not received FP notice since my ND was 5/2001. She confessed to me about a huge problem in the fingerprinting department. She complained bitterly that they (the FP dept) has still not listened to the many complaints about the FP problem and have refused to address the issue. According to her, "instead they want to reprogram the computers to send out the notices again". She said that in her opinion, they should just go down the list of 2001 applicants and send out the FP's that way. I was so impressed with her. She has been the only one to have spoken with me this way since I have been calling the INS. Others have been very rude, brash and gave standard answers ("we are processing 2000 applications).
She then gave me a fax number to fax to a particular officer (officer #) and told me to ask for my FP to be scheduled. She advised that I should continue to call the INS until I get FP. I told her about the fact that many 2002 applicants are getting approved and she said, this complaint has also been discussed in her weekly supervisor meeting. That they are working on this issue.
One point I got from her was that she said I should "keep calling". My advise to everyone is that we should continue to call and complain that May2001 -Sept2001 FP's have not been received.
Please call the texas service center at 214-381-1423. They seem to have upgraded their phones and it is much easier to get through these days.
