Fingerprint review ??

High5

Registered Users (C)
The online case status for I-485 application states the following:

"On 'MM/DD/YY' the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made."

What does this mean ?

Applied for I-140 Labor substitution (VSC)
------------------------------------------------------
RD : 03/28/2002
ND : 03/29/2002
No approval / denial yet. Note it is close to one year now and I have not heard about my I-140 application.

Applied for I-485/EAD (Concurrent filing) (VSC)
------------------------------------------------------------
RD : 08/28/2002
ND : 09/18/2002
FP : 11/01/2002 (Finger Printed)
No approval / denial for EAD / I-140 yet...

Standard

Thats a standard message posted after fingerprinting is done. What it means is that FBI results has come - thats one of the many conditions to be fulfilled before 485 is approved. The result goes to the file and it is placed in the queue for further processing. The biggest factor influencing the approval, I guess, is the number of people ahead you in the queue.

Cheers.

I-140

It is not surprise for your case. I am in same boat. Mine is EB-1 extraordinary case.
I-140 RD is 03/14/2003/
No news yet? GOD KNOWS better.
Applied I-485 RD 09/24/02.
FP done on 11/01/02. INS rceived on 11/05/2002.
online status check indicates my EAD approved on 01/29/03 but I haven't received card with me.

If EAD approved, does it mean I-140 is in goos shape. Pl.Reply

Does this message mean that the fingerprinting was successful ? When I went for FP last week, the person mentioned that I might have to come back. He noticed a lot of scars and lines on my fingers (to me, it is perfectly normal) and said the FBI will certainly reject it and ask me to redo it. However, today my 485 status online "the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case". Does it mean that the FBI has accepted the FPs ? or could it still come back ?

Guys,
Does online message for I-485 changes, when INS sends a FP notice?. Or is it only after you give the FP, you see the message?.

I got FP notice today and have a number with FPS*. I have checked my I-485 no change in message..says Received application will take nn days.

By the way, I am planning to give FP this weekend as I'll be away on scheduled date (3/8/03). Is it possible to do FP ahead of schedule without showing any good reason?

Thanks,
-Sanga

The message changes after you have got the FP done and INS has received the results. I guess, most if not all, of these FP centers are contractor operated supervised by INS officials. They even ask you to fill up a survey at the end of FP - stating if you were satisfied by your experience. A plesant surprise :)

Regarding appointment, you have to take thier approval for any change in dates - as mentioned on the notice. I would guess pre-poning would be difficult.

Thanks DHARMA.

Never mind, I see a change in message today on I-485 of mine and spouse as - "On February 12, 2003, we mailed a notice requesting that you appear for fingerprint recording........"

I have seen folks doing FP ahead of scedule in so many occasions. I am going to go to INS office taday and enquire about it. Will let the forum know...!

Thanks,
-Sanga.

I got my FP notice from my lawyer on Jan. 31st, 2003. I am scheduled on Feb. 20th but the online message is still saying processing ... and need days bla bla, not mentioned FP notice at all. Don't know if why...

INS is mysterious in more than one way !!

INS folks amazed me today at local INS application Support Center. I went there to find out what I should do to give FP ahead of schedule and beleive it or not I am done with my FP on the spot. It took 8-10 minutes for the whole process from the moment I stepped into the office until I stepped out of the office including filling a feedback form on their work :)

FP Notice Recd: 02/13/02
FP scheduled : 03/08/03.
FP Completed : 02/14/03.

Hi Sanga,

Can you please let me know which local office you went for your fingerprints. I mean where you reside....

It mean we can do fingerprinting ahead of our schedule. Right.

Good luck

Re: INS is mysterious in more than one way !!

Wow. Thats great. It sure seems, FP is the only process they have a pretty good handle on. And the most user friendly one for that matter.

FP done on 2/1/03. INS online message still not updated that FP results received. Is it common?. Called FBI- they say that they sent the completed results on the same day, i.e 2/1/03.
