Fingerprint: Rescheduling

Hi,

We received fingerprinting notices in mail yesterday and we're scheduled for 02/14/2003. However both my wife and I are going to india 02/08 - 03/15. We could not reschedule over the phone as we're told only appointments made over the phone can be rescheduled. Also I have heard horror stories that it could be real long before they reschedule or worse yet it could be even before we're back from India. Can we just walk-in to INS office before the scheduled date? We've to go to San Jose INS office.

Please share your experiences.

I think its possible. Just go to their office and request. Whether it would happen or not, its worth taking a shot.

I was in the same case, I just postponed. It always better to be safe than sorry

Walk-in with your tour plans...I am sure they obey your request..friend of mine has done that........

I did that...

I just walked in around 3.30 PM and they(INS) didn't even a question and took the finger prints. Mine is actually scheduled on 2/20/03. Every thing is done in 10 min.
