It\'s hardly heard that someone\'s FP is rejected by FBI until recently.
On a discussion board, I even learned that both husband\'s and wife\'s were rejected at the same time!
Can you say the failure rate is not noticeable?
And this mishap also came onto me.
When I called FBI and was told that my FP was unclear, my heart got chill.
Who knows how long the 2nd notice will arrive?
It varies, but 3 months look like a reasonable expectation.
The economy is already on the brink of recession.
Can you guarantee the success of 2nd time?
ASC refused my request of redo without a notice from INS.
Following Ciba\'s advise, I went to join the long line in front of San Jose INS office early in the morning.
After listening to my situation, the officer keyed in my A# and checked my case status on computer.
Then he checked my driver\'s license (to make sure I live in their jurisdiction, I guess), keyed in my address and printed a FP notice from a laser printer behind him.
It took only about 3 minutes.
The notice (Form N-14) is totally different from my 1st one.
It states that "upon receipt of this notice, you may go to ASC on any business day in 3 months".
Who will wait?
I left INS, drove to ASC and did my 2nd FP. It\'s just the 8th day from my 1st FP.
Once the cycle time of a turn-around can be under 10 days, the FP rejection is no more that terrible.
If you are in the same boat and want to follow the same path, don\'t do that before the rejection is put in INS system.
The response of FBI is very fast but the update of INS system may take a few days.
Can the people who has waited many months without 1st FP notice also try this approach?
Can the people who received the 1st FP notice too late (overdue) also try it?
I have no answer.
You may try it, by your own free will.
