Fingerprint and name check

Hi All,
Just wondering , can anybody tell me when should one go for the name check and fingerprint status check? Doesn't USCIS process N-400s for interview in the order of their priority dates? or they do it by the order they recieve these results form FBI?

Good question ipeverywhere. IMHO, it seems that the PD has some weight but not 100% as I have noticed that applications way ahead of DO's current processing time are sometimes called for interviews and the opposite of that also seems to be a regular occurrence. I'm no expert at this but it seems its a combination of all i.e. PD + security clearance (FP, Name check, blah) and ofcourse some factor of luck.

I have my FP appointment tomorrow thanks to my Senator. I was wondering how long after FP does the name check clearance take?

FP and namecheck

I was at the DO and found that my name check had been cleared months ago. My FP is still pending. My second prints were rejected and I have to get police certificates. So I do not believe there is a link between the two checks
