Finger Prints are expired

Hi Everyone,

Mine and my wife Finger Prints were expired (by july 17, 2006). Our PD is August 2004. Next month we are visiting India for 3 weeks.

We are worried what if we receive Finger Pronts notice when we were in India. I heard that, until my PD is current I do not get Finger Prints notice. Is this true?? Can any one point UCSIS web site??

That's not correct.

USCIS can send FP notice to you at any time. If you have a lawyer, he/she may receive the FP notice sometimes also, but not always.
In your case that you will be absent for only 3 weeks, there should be no big issue. Normally, USCIS gives you grace 90 days to finish the FP after the appointment day.
Good Luck,

Thanks for the reply.

90 days to finish FP when we receive first time. I heard in this forum, some one got 2nd FT notice and there was only 3 weeks to finish.

If that is the case I am doomed.

You would have to be reeeaaally unlucky for them to send you the notice at the beginning of your 3-week trip.

Question for others ... does the USCIS case status web site show anything about having sent you a fingerprint notice? I know it shows something about having received the fingerprints, but can't remember whether it would show something about the fingerprint notice (I think I signed up on their web site sometime after receiving the FP notice).

Jack,

When FP notices are sent out, there are rarely any message changes. Most of the time there is a LUD change on one of the Apps (can be either 485, 140 or even EADs). A lot of times the message changes to "The document based on the approval of this application has been mailed to the applicant .. blah blah.

regards,

Saras
