You can take your Finger Printing notice to your local ASC in the state where you currently reside and get your finger printing done.

To find an Application Support Center near your place check the link below:

I recently recieved a FP notice to get my Finger Printing done in Oakland, California on Feb 2, 2005.

Using the same notice I was able to get my FP done in Charlotte, North Carolina.

You can also try going to your local ASC before the scheculed date. Most ASCs are open on Saturday.

BadeMiyan,
thanks, but Have you given the finger prints before(in Charlotte) the date that was given to you in OAKLAND, or after the date??

I will try to go to local office but don't lnow if they will accept it or tell me to come back later...

Remember this is the experience we had when we got the FP done in Charlotte, North Carolina:

I did my FP on Feb 09 2005 (a week late than the scheduled date of Feb 02 2005)

Friend of mine who accompnaied me did his FP on Feb 09 2005 as well (a month before his scheduled date of Mar 08 2005)

I think the local ASC should accept you before the scheduled date, unless of-course the guy sitting at the counter is having a bad day or if they are overcrowded on the day you walk in.

My recommendation : give it a try as soon as possible if the local ASC is close to place of work or home.

The local ASC for us was 200 miles away(a good 3 hr drive), but we gave it a try and it was all good for us.

BadeMiyan,

I have given my Fingerprinting today at the local office,I told them I am on the project and came to this state for few days and I cannot be in the original state of address.

They talk nothign tio me, But I has a copy of fingerprint notice and once they scanned automatically my name and address came up...I was surpised how can they scan from a zeroz copy?? As I don not have the original

And later they took my finger prints..??

but my questions is , Do I have to inform the original USCIS office in CA to let them know that i will not be available and I don't have the phone number....

You don't have to inform the original USCIS office in CA anything. The appointments are generally blanket appointments e.g. n no of people scheduled on a given day.

In about 10 days or 2 weeks time, you should see the status change for your 485 to something like this:

On xyz date the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.
