Hi All

I filed (my spouse as well) my EAD and AP thru E-Filing and received receipt notices for the both.

I read conflicting threads whether make appointment for finger printing on our own or USCIS will send appointment notice.

Which one is correct? I called USCIS 800 number and I was told to do as given in receipt notice.

The receipt notice message is also NOT clear. It says, if i-1485 appication, then they will send appointment letter. But I couldn't convince USCIS phone agent.

It has been since I e-Filed my EAD application. What should I do? Please help

I dont know correct answer - BUT , when i efiled EAD last month, I did call the 800 number to get apmnt. I told them I efiled so I need apmnt to FP- and they asked if my cases 5 or 6 th digit is " 8" ( mine is 8)- then they gave me apmnt.

Dont know what that 8 means.

Hope this helps

If you efile your EAD then you have to call the 1.800 number on the pdf that you printed out after filing EAD. I can't remember the sequence of numbers you have to press but the option should state that you are asked or required to call them. In most cases, you will get an appointment within a week.

Goodluck.

Based on recent EAD/AP e-filed renewal experience with NSC(for details pl. see my signature below), you DO NOT need to schedule for FP notice for EAD renewal application. In fact, the online receipt clearly mentions this. I received my FP notice scheduled sent NSC in the mail after 3 weeks of e-filing, got EAD approval a week after FP was done. For my earlier EAD e-filed renewals, i did call USCIS & setup the FP appointments.

Hope this helps.

Calling 1-800 number is old practice. the procedure changed. I applied for my EAD through e-file few days back and I received FP appointment letter immediately. No need to call.. as per the instructions on the e-file receipt notice.
