Finger printing and travel overseas

I recently filed I-485@NSC, I might have to travel overseas in 2-3 months for 20 days. I am worried that FP notice might come during that time. If it does how can I handle it best?

You need not worry. Usually FP notice is issued about 20 to 25 days in advance from date of appointment and BCIS give 3 months time to take FP if appointment date is missed.

alternate venue

If you miss the first deadline then the FP states the alternate venue and the second deadline. If you do not FP before the second deadline, ur I-485 is said to be abandoned.

regarding your question

i beleive that you may also be able to do figerprinting at a US consulate or embassy abroad not sure if it is still possible but my friends years ago was traveling and got fingerprinting at the USA consulate services in ciudad juarez Mexico.....he explained to them the situation show them the letter and it was done this was on 2000 things may have change ever since,,,that of course if you know you will not be here back on time to do the fingerprinting ...he also showed a company letter explainig what he couldnt do it since he was temporarily on assigment in mexico. that how he was able to do so .

you may want to check this route with BCIS / NCSC
