Finger printing and receipt notice

Sent application I-140 and I-485, EAD and AP concurrently to NSC on 31-Oct-02. I have couple of questions:

1. Until now, I haven't received the receipt notice from NSC. When it comes, will the RD and ND be 01-Nov-02 or some other date?

2. After I get the receipt notice of I-485, can I go for finger printing on my own (With I-485 receipt ) without getting the finger print notice from INS?

3. How the 180 days portability works with concurrent filing? The start date is RD of I-140/I-485 or the date of I-140 approval?

Can somebody throw some light on this?

Thanks

Hey Mr nsc_greencard,

You will be getting RD and ND in another week.

Friends any idea on other questions.

Thanks !!!:) :)

2. No you can not go for Finger Printing on your own. It will have to be scheduled by INS.

3. Your 180 days start from I485 notice date.

little trick

For concurrent filing 180 days start ony after 140 approval, that is why INS is processing 140 fast.

Lot of debate is going on this, so you can take 180 rule only after 140 approval to be onsafer rule

No, the debate is not about when the counting of 180 days will start ... it is about whether you can use this rule if your I140 is not approved.

The counting of 180 days will start from the ND of your I485. If your I140 is approved within these 180 days, then there is no issue. But, if it is not approved within threse 180 dyas, you should wait until your I140 is approved.

So to be on the safeside you should wait until your I140 is approved.
