I have applied for my mom's permanent residency; we applied while she was here (on visitor's visa) in 2H 2003. We had her interview done couple of months and they indicated that fingerprinting had expired (more than 18 months) and needed to be retaken. We had her fingerprinting done, and after few weeks had to be retaken due to some issues. We had the fingerprinting retaken and again the same problem, we got another notice for fingerprinting. I inquired at the application center and they indicated that now I need to get her police clearance, they indicated that fingerprints are not coming out right due to her age (65 years).
Has this happened to anyone? If so, what are the next steps. What steps do I need to take? What police jurisdictions should I contact to get police clearance? Do I need clearance from India? Do I need clearance for every jurisdiction she stayed (even though less than 6 mos) while in USA?
Any assistance/directions are appreciated,
