Finger print question

Hi,
Can anyone shed me a light on fingerprinting process.
I plan to apply on 4/30 but I have a travel plan out of the country between 5/11-5/29. I notice from N400 timeline threads, the FD is more or less 1 month after PD. I am worried I will miss the FP date. My question is, what is the process to get finger printed after I send the application. Do they send us letter with a certain date or a time frame for finger printing? I do need to make an appointment first? what if the date/time frame is before I come back from my vacation? and what's the deal with "walk-in finger printing" how can I do that?

another question, since I will be applying (4/30) before I go out of country - Euro trip (5/11-5/29) - I already know the dates, should I put this date on the application? I assume not, but what do you guys suggest me?

thanks in advance.

FP appointment.I would not worry about. They give you a date.If you cannot make it .You just go there on weekends and do walk thru.I would def not miss the interview date or try to move that the way things are looking lately.

No, I wouldn't put a "future date" on the form.

BTW: Why not wait until you get back to submit the form? Delaying things by less than a month is nothing.

Silicon, a work around will be that you apply the day before you leave, maybe 5/10. This way you can come back and pick up the letters from mail hold if they have even sent the FP letter.
