Finger Print question?

My I-485 ND is 01/18/2000. I\'ve the following questions about finger printing.
1) How many days before actual FP appointment, VSC sends FP notice?
2) Is FP appointment going to be on a specific day or would they send the notice saying we are required to do FP within certain days( From date - To date)?
3) What happens if we miss FP appointment?
4) If we miss it do we need to contact INS or FBI? Would it slow down I-485 approval a lot?

I\'ve all the above questions since I\'m planning to go to India for a month starting January 2001 end.

Your help in this would be very much appreciated.

Generally you should receive the FP notice two week prior to your appointment date. You will have one week to do your FP. After your first week, you will have approximately three months to do your FP, but you will only be able to visit one day a week.

It should not be a problem, if you are just planning to visit for couple of months.
