My self and spouse did finger print on 10/11/05 for I 485 and USCIS recieved result of finger print on 10/17/05.

My son (12 year) didn't recieved any notice for biometric so far. I heared that under 14 years do not require finger print. However he need picture and signature ( I am not sure ??)

Is any body have kids under 14 year and know on this issue? I called USCIS, but representative is not cleared. Simply advised me to wait.

USCIS representative told me, "USCIS will take care of it at the time of 1485 approval/decision for any child turning 14. If approval/decision is not reached, and the child is turning 14, you must call and request for FP, the ASC center will charge."
Now a days Receipts Notice showing FP-note for certain cases. I have no idea about Approval Notice, perhaps it contains the same works for FP-Note.

Thanks for your information.
It appears that we should not worry for kids (under 14) finger print now.

I received notice for biometrics code 3 for me and wife, and biometrics code 2 for my daughter under 14 year old. We all did this on Oct 6, 2005. However LUD changed for only me and my wife stating that USCIS received finger printing results and processing of I-485 resumed.
However, I know one family here who received finger printing notice only for him and wife, not for his daughter (under 14 year old). So it looks like USCIS randomly send these notices.

FP for kids under 14 yrs.

I took my two sons (Under 14 years) to ASC along when I went there for biometrics in October 2005. Even though they didn't receive any FP notice, I followed the advice I read in this forum. The Staff at the ASC simply verified their I485 receipt notices, and decided to do the Biometrics for them.
I still think you should take your kids to ASC for the biometrics to save some processing time. I think that doing the FP now for them may save you trip to USCIS office for interview during the I485 adjudication time.

I took my son with me at the time of my biometrics on 10/11/05 with original I 485 receipt notice but ASC refuged to take biometric of my son without FP notice. I think USCIS and ASC are not consistant for the rules
