Finger Print Date did not come

Hi everyone,
I sent my N400 on November 15, 2003 and received a notification from the vermont Service Center shortly after, saying that they received my application on November 22, 2003. They also cashed my check for $310.
As of now, March 6, 2004, I still did not hear from them for the fingerprint appointment. Most of the people in this forum got their appointments within a month. I believe there is a problem, what should I do? Should I call or write to the service center?
On my notification receipt , it says that I should expect to wait 540 days for this kind of service, is this what it says on everybody's receipt or is it just my case? I do not see why my case should be different anyways.
I appreciate any ideas and help.

nyc is slower than the rest. i suggest u wait for a month, hopefully it will come if not then its unusual. u can contact the vsc but its hard to get a response from them... im sure ur local office too is overcrowded

what u can do now is call the 800 number.. spk to the CSR and ask ur question. 9/10 they wont know. ask to spk to an immig officer, be prepared to wait.. best time
to call is 8am! all the best
 
Today I called the 1800 number of Immigration. I told them that it has been 4 months since they received my application and still I did not get the fingerprint date.
They told me there is nothing they could do, NYC is processing December 2002 applications (?) and I should wait for a couple of months and then call back again.
I wonder how long I will wait for the oath, if I am waiting for the fingerprint this long :-)

I'm also from NYC and I've been waiting for about five weeks. So if you're too frustrated, just think that there're people who'll have to wait longer than you do.... :-)
 
I live in Manhattan and applied for citizenship in May, 2003. I received the FP notice two month after my application has been accepted.
 
Hi everyone,

I received the fingerprint appointment letter today, March 19 2004. I do not know if my calling the VSC 1800 number or the letter I sent to the local office last week helped. The FP is scheduled for April 23, 2004.

Hi Sinanthan,

I have a suggestion. Yours seems to be a record for time from application to finger print notice. That must be frustrating. I think we should start a 'Fingerprint tracker' thread to track fingerprinting time, with dates and Service Center. This way any new applicant can look at it to get a general idea.
