Finding Jobs in Canada

Hi Everyone,

Its been 6 months now that we have our PRs of Canada but no luck in finding jobs in IT sector. I have gone through the site where some of our members suggested workopolis.com and workinfonet.ca. Just have a question Will Address matter a lot? In my profile I have given the contact address and phone number of US. Does that really matter for the recruiters? No calls from Canadian end, but receiving calls from US side.

Does anybody has any views or suggestions as what best we can do with the Job findings in canada? Or If some one has any knowledge about contacting Job Agencies in Canada. Please share info with everyone.

Yes, the address does matter, and since you provided US address, it creates a sense of being present in another country and you may not join the project in time. In which case the recruiters avoid calling / contacting you.

The best of the options are;

1. Change your profiles on these sites (except email and Telephone number),
try to provide some Canadian address. If you have landed there
and had a paying guest accomodation etc. then give that address.

2. The second option is to have a / buy a Canadian Cell phone connection or VOIP telephone service at some address of your freind or the PG accomodation guy and have the "calls forwarded to your US cell number immediately after 1 rings. this canadian numbers also gives the employers a good sense of your availability and you will get calls.

Many Do follow this path.
