Please help dear board members:
My name is Brandon Sun and I am currently a Canadian citizen attending a post-secondary education in the United States. My ultimate career goal is to become a Financial Advisor (aka Investment Representative, aka Broker, etc...) but the company I am applying for does not offer sponsorship. My question is: does this Financial Advisor position fit under the TN status? I looked at the list of the TN positions and the "Economist" and "Consultant" positions look fairly vague. Does a financial advisor fit under either of these two categories? If yes, that will be some of the best news I will ever hear in my life.. If not, do you have any other suggestions for me?
I will graduate in upcoming June with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from a liberal arts college in the United States. I am applying to several jobs in America and pursuing the financial advisor track. I am almost 100% certain that I can land at least one job due to my internship experience, education and background but the Visa issue is a huge obstacle. While I can use OPT and work legally for a year, there is an industry-wide standard in the financial services industry to not offer H1B sponsorship. So for me to be able to work long-term and endeavor a career here, the TN status is my only option.
Thanks,
-Brandon
