Finally, the light from the other end of tunnel

After over 11 months of waiting, I got my IV letter today. My on-line status never changed. I am not sure this was a result of my phone call to USCIS and asked for a Service Request since my priority date is over two months outside of normal processing date posted on their web side for my district office. No matter for what reason, at least it is a big step moving forward. Here is my time line summary:

11/06/2006 Application sent to NSC.
11/13/2006 Priority date assigned.
11/28/2006 Receipts received.
11/30/2006 Finger printing notice received.
12/08/2006 Finger printing completed.

............... Wating........

8/16/2007 Called 800 number requested status update, service request number issued. Be told to waiting for at least 45 days before call back to check the status. (I didn't call yet due to international traveling schedule).

10/22/2007 IV letter received.
12/17/2007 Interview date.

Then, will waiting for the last step. Hopefully won't be that long again......

The number to call or inquire about a pending case is 1-800-375-5283. Press 1, 2, 6 and then 0. Wait couple of secs after pressing each of these options. When the operator asnwers, make sure you insist him / her to transfer your call to the first available officer. The officers have more & accurate information vs these representatives who answers your calls initially. Make sure you have either your A # or your receipt number handy. The officer will also confirm your date and country of birth along with your address in USA.
