I've been waiting for my i-485 to be approved for over a year (stuck in the fbi name check) at the San Francisco district office. Last week I sent in my application for renewal of my EAD and today I got a letter that I could pick it up in the middle of next week. That's 1 1/2 weeks after I mailed them my application.
