Finally it is my turn to say that my I485 is approved..

 RD 07/01/99
 ND 07/24/99
 FP 05/13/00
RFE generated by VSC on 09/08/2000 to redo I140 because of company name change
RFE response(redo I140) sent to VSC on 10/12/2000.
RFE response acknowledged by VSC on 10/16/2000.
redo I140 approved on 10/27/2000.
I485 approved on 11/09/2000.
Waiting for the approval notice..

Congratulations venki123!

Can you please tell us if the company name was different on your I140 and I485, that triggered the redo?

Also, was it because of merger/acquisition or simple name change?

Oops..i forgot to tell something..
I have been closely reading the messages in this chat board from last 3 months on a daily basis..This site has fantastic and up to date information which is needed for everyone..Thanks a lot to Rajiv Khanna for maintaining this site..and also many many thanks to everyone who is contributing to this site..

Aqualung : Yes..my company name is different in I140 and in I1485..and that triggered the RFE to redo I140..
it is just a name change..
I hope you will hear the good news soon..

Venki123, Congratulations. Have you ever talked to IIO regarding your case. My i-140 redo RD 9/28/00 and ND 10/05/00 and EAC#01-003-XXXXX. I know your RD is one week later than mine. I am still waiting for my approval. I am planning to talk to IIO next week. Any suggestions

alpred : You should definitely talk to IIO. I had a talk with an IIO on Nov 1st..The IIO initially told me that they received the response for RFE on 16th october,2000 and it is going to take 3 weeks...When i told her that my redo I140 approved on 10/27..she asked for the
receipt number for new I140..i have given the new I140 receipt #. She told me that there is no need to send the new I140 approval notice to them.. and the officer is looking at it..and i can hear the decision soon..She said 3 weeks is the approx time but it can be done sooner...Surprisingly, it is approved on 11/9/2000.

Thanks for your suggestion. But i have a question why AVR still says same old message on 9/7 we sent a rfe even after i got a receipt notice for amended I-140. My attorney sent whole package together including rfe letter when he replied for rfe on I-140 redo
