Good that you have been touched.

Whats the RFE you got ,, Plzz share the Speed Breaker with us .. ;)

My EAD is gonna expire on 24th May 2004, shall I apply for its renewal or shall I assume that my case would be approved by that date.

Never assume anything with USCIS. Apply for your EAD renewal even if your case gets approved before that.

Sorry that you got an RFE but the good thing is that at least your case was reviewed. Something good comes out of everything.

Hope you get the RFE Notice and respond to it soon. Do let us know what the RFE was for. Best of Luck, and here's hoping all Feb 2002 filers get approved soon.

There is no guarantee with BCIS. There are people waiting here for approval, 6 months after responding to RFE. So don't make any further delay in applying for EAD renewal.

It may take one week to 10 days to receive RFE notice. By the time you may keep ready documents like

Last 2 year W2's
Last 3-6 mon pay stubs
Emp letter
AC21 letter if you change job
Previous H1s
etc.

did you change your employer ?

Well my friend.......BCIS or INS or UCIS has broken all trends, if there were any.

My sincere advise, do not delay your EAD filing based on this RFE being generated.
I replied to my last RFE in July and still waiting for the approval.

One more thing, saving $200 or so for your EAD will not make you a millionare but for sure, if your EAD expires before you have new one, your life will be miserable.
'Something from my own experience.'

Rest all is your decision.

Thanks for the advice, today I'll apply for the EAD and yes I changed the employer twice. Currently where I am working is a full time position which I joined recently(17th Nov 2003) before that I was consulting for this company.
Thanks

Below is the message form the BCIS site

On January 27, 2004, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Once if RFE is issued what are the chances of case getting transferred.

I will recommend to apply for a new EAD, I know you have to pay a fee but its worth.

My recommendation would be

to prepare your paper for EAD renewal and when you reply rfe, send ead renewal next day or together with rfe reply.. so that it can trigger your rfe processing ie. approval but watch out 90 days intrim EAD timeline for EAD...

Goodluck..

I agree with all that's been said above. I got an RFE in November and replied the same week. Online status says they received info November 25th.

My EAD expires in July and I am re-applying this week.

I saw someone else said that you may expect approval within two months of RFE. I know that was the case last year but I think this year there are people still waiting who had RFE's months ago.

Fingers crossed for all of us!! :)

Also, please see the RFE tracker we have going on the tracker forum. That may help you out and your details may also help others.

Thanks!
