Wow...I never thought I would see the day but exactly (and I mean exactly) 90 days after my GC interview I got an email from the USCIS website that my case status had been changed. I opened up the email half-expecting some further complications and issues but to my surprise this is what it said:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The following is the latest information on your case status

Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or
to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On May 6, 2005, after approving your application, we ordered you a new
card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready

--------------------------------------------------------------

I later went on the website and sure enough this is my current status as of 5/6/05. Now the question is how long until I get the card! I have a few trips coming up and want to make sure I have the card before I set off.

I guess 90 days was the magical number for me...will report back when I get it in the mail.

In case you forgot, this was my experience posted in another thread: http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=162280

It was great timing too because today (May 7th) was my birthday!! :D

There will be another change in the web site and You should receive another e-mail that they sent it. At this point you should have the card in the mail by Friday- May 13th at latest, or Mon- 15th
Congratulations :)

You were right!

New status:
------------------------------------------
Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Does the actual green card come with the approval notice or does that get sent later? I'm tired of waiting but extremely excited to see progress!

You were right! :) I checked the mail today and there it was...my 2 year conditional green card. I'm so happy right now...even though I was impatient I think I was very lucky with my case.

They received my application for the GC in Oct 27 2004 and I got the GC in my hand today on May 13th 2005. Not bad...no real issues or problems along the way either.

I think this is mainly because I just slipped into the NYC fast track program...

Good luck to the rest of you and thanks for all your help. I'm going out to celebrate :)
