Finally heard from USCIS on my I-485 processing

I called the USCIS yesterday and spoke to a very nice lady, she took all the information and was very helpful. Today I heard from them, here is what they wrote:

On November 23, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

So, they're finally doing something about my case. My receipt date was Dec. 20, 1999. Has anyone else received similar message from USCIS?

Yes

and when I finally got it in mail it said " ... the processing of asylum based I-485 applications was extended and we will let you know if anything new happens". I don't remember exact words but that was basicaly the summary, nothing usefull.

The wrote me the same crap. The letter said that they are processing I-485 that received between Nov. 17, 99 and March 30, 2000 during the period of Oct. 2004 and Sept. 2005! So, I may have to wait until Spet. 2005!
