Folks,
Just heard the AVM that says my case has been approved :), and so does my wifes' .
I have been a regular silent visitor to this site, which is a great resource.
Here is my case info :

- INDIA RIR EB3
- LIN-01-219-53xxx
- RD 06/07/2001
- ND 07/13/2001
- FP 12/12/2001
- RFE 07/22/2002 - For updated Employment letter
RFE replied 09/04/2002
RFE received at INS 09/05/2002
- APPROVED : 09/19/2002

I changed job 9 months 24 days after filing I485. This is a consulting job in same position. End-to-end it took almost 44 months for completing the process.

During the whole process talked twice to Immigration Officer and they were very helpful and professional.

Finally, I would like to thank to Mr. Rajeev Khanna and his team for providing such a valuable resource.

Good luck to everybody.

I will update this info at rupnet.com

Employment letter was very straight forward and I quote
"Please take this letter as our verification of Mr. XXXs current employment with Company_XXX . As background, the employer is a worldwide computer systems and programming consulting organization.. Pursuant to our ongoing operations, we employ the services of many computer and systems professionals, placed at client locations throughout the USA. Mr. XXX is one such employee of Company_XXX and works pursuant to his INS-issued EAD.

Mr. XXX is employed as a Position_XXX by Company_XXX . Mr. XXX’s skills and experience as Position_XXX are utilized by the company in providing services to its clients. Mr. XXX is paid an annual salary of $ XXXX. Mr. XXX has been employed with Company_XXX since Month Day, Year, and several of his pay stubs are attached as proof of his ongoing employment and payment of his salary.

Therefore, we trust that this letter and the supporting enclosures will amply demonstrate Mr. XXX’s ongoing employment as a Position_XXX with Company_XXX."

Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Congratulations sougma.
When you changed the employer did you inform INS?
Did you change the lawer when you changed the employer?
If yes then what is the procedure ?do we need to inform INS about change of lawer too?
Thanks in advance.

No, I did not inform INS or changed lawyer. However, it is a good idea to inform INS that you have changed employer under AC21 portability and also attach a letter from the new employer indicating the position, salary and that the job is permanent.

U can also change lawyer and inform INS (there is a form to be sent to INS.. don't remember the number) that you have changed lawyer. New lawyer will do neccessary paperwork to get all the documents from previous lawyer. This way you can possibly avoid any RFE however there is no guarantee that there won't be any RFE.
