Finally, as per AVM, the I-485 applications for me, my wife and my daughter are approved. My son got an RFE. Do not know what it could be because we have not received the letters yet. It took just 2 years from I-140 filing date (no labor was required for this category). I-140 got approved in Dec. 2000, but indecision as to whether to do consular processing or status adjustment took 3 months and we filed I-485s in March 2001. It took 1 yr 3 months from I-485 filing and 2 months and ten days after finger printing. Thanks a lot to all on this informative forum. Luckily for us, every step took the average time. I shall update all other sites. I shall be on the forum till a few days after plastic cards are received for all of us including my son.

I expect that a lot of approvals of the cases with RD around March 2001 and FP around March 2002 will come forth in the coming weeks.

TEXELK4141, congrats. In the Tracker your FP 4/03/02, here 4/06/01, which one is correct?

If you did your FP 14 months ago, it would be really lucky for you to get the approvals just before the expiration of your FP. But I think most likely you had the FP on 04/06/02.

Please let us know your son\'s RFE later. Good luck.

Hi Gking1, nofficial consultant for immigration portal visitors,

Thanks a lot for your efforts in dissemenating good info. I visited the e-nairobi for updating, and my info was already there!!! Regarding your question, our FP was originally scheduled for 04/03/2002, but since my son has a school trip, we went the next day (a Thursday). The ASC (Dallas) guy said he would allow off-schedule FPs only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hence, we got it finally done on 04/06/02 (Saturday). I corrected this on e-nairobi site.

My son\'s RFE is for not having taken TB-skin test. Since he was below 14, the doctor ill-advised us not to get it done, but, INS letter says it is required for every one over 3.

Thanks

Greaty-K,

Just when I was struggling hard to remember my password for your site, I found that you already updated it with my info. Thanks a lot.
