Finally Approved

Received the Email on 02-15-2006.Spouse case still pending. Applied for H1b on 01-30-2006 (waste of money, however piece of mind). Replied to REF
(for I485) on 01-3-2006(legal status). Did fp code 1 on 09-24-2005. Now I have a few questions:
1) will there be any problem having H1b and approved I485
2) will I get another fp notice
3) should I go for passport stamping or wait for plastic card
4) how long for my wife case to get approved (did not get fp notice in sep 05).

No, the I485 supercedes the H1b (it is called adjustment of status for a reason).

You might. Probably you will get a FP notice for 'biometrics' before they can order your card. I believe that code 1 is only the 'tenprints' for the background check. Code 3 would be 'tenprints and biometrics' which allows them to issue a card without passport stamping or a separate biometrics appointment.

Go for passport stamping. They tell you that you will receive the card in 4 weeks and shouldn't go for stamping, in reality it is more likely that you won't get the card for another 6 months, in the meantime you don't have proof of status to your employer or if you run into a USCIS road-block.

passport stamping

Hadron, thanks for your quick replies. How do I go about passport stamping, can I to local INS office with approval notice? What other docuents will I need?

You need your national passport, your EAD/AP documents (which they might keep) and the approval notice. You might have to make an infopass appointment .
