Hi Guys,
I have good news to share with you folks. Our 485 applications have finally been approved according to the phone message today (8/28/00). This is after nearly three years of waiting-
Here are some of the details. If any of you want more I can provide later.
EB2 India, NIW
I-140 RD - Oct 14, 97
I-140 approved - Oct 17, 97
I-485 RD - 4/1/99, ND 4/29/99
FP 2/22/00
RFE (Regarding I-140. I have posted more details in earlier messages) sent by VSC on 8/1/00. RFE response received at VSC on 8/11/00.
I-485 approved today 8/28/00. Too happy and excited to post anything more now. Will check back later to answer questions and will post Pittsburgh stamping experience when I get it done. I sincerely thank Mr. Rajiv Khanna for maintaining this wonderful resource. For close to three years this board is what helped me maintain my sanity.
Good luck to everyone waiting (I am not going to say "your turn will come" because when people said this it made me even more mad).

No. My I-140 RFE is a long story. In short, I was self-petitioned and my employer underwent M&A during my I-485. This should have had no effect on my I-485 since I was self-petitioned but INS thought that I was employer sponsored. Hence the RFE. No I did not file a new I-140.
