Finally approved!!!

Just checked online/phone status, both my wife's case and mine have been approved yesterday! updated Rupnet.

Now I think about the whole process - It wasn't too bad, or I should say it could've been worse. It took about 3 years from filing Labor to I-485 approval:

LC: filed 4/01, approved 9/01 -- ~ 5 moths
I140: filed 9/01, approved 12/01 -- little over 2 months
I-485: filed 01/02, approved 4/15/04 -- over 26 moths!!!

during which: 3 EAD applications, 2 approvals, 3rd one (2nd extension) got RFE, hasn't(will probably never because of the I-485 approval) been approved yet. 2 AP applications, could have been 3. FP 3 times (4 times for my wife ). online/phone status never changed until this morning. Contacted Senator a couple of weeks ago which seemed to make it happen.

I-485 RD 1/28/02, ND 2/11/02
FP1 5/02
FP2 10/03 - status never udated
FP3 12/03 - status never updated
FP4 01/04 - my wife, since previous one not readable.
3rd EAD RD 10/03, got RFE 02/04 (photo), replied 03/04 no approval

I-485 AD 4/15/04 according to online/phone status, No RFE

I've heard/seen quite a few approvals on 4/15/2004 (I know this is still far from enough but compare to the other days...). Looks like those officers finally finished filing their tax returns (and expecting big refund!) so they are in good mood to approve cases! :) :) :)

Consider yourself the lucky one. My LC was filed in 4/01 too, and it took two whole years to get it! And I just got 140 approved in 3/04, still got a long way to go for 485!

Treat yourself well this weekend, you deserve it!! ;)

Sure, But for the fact he might have completed the whole process within 18 months and be happy not thinking about the stupid USCIS and running around for EADs,FPs and what not.

Ontheotherhand, its pretty good approval w/ no RFE.

And ofcourse some of us are stuck w/ labor for whole two years. Now it may take anywhere from two years to three to get the 485. I myself, applied LC in 5/01 and it was approved in 11/02.
