Hi,
I am a permanent resident of US for 2.5 years and am planning to temporarily move to Canada for graduate school (expected duration = 4 years). I am confused about some of the fields in the I-131 application.
1 - Expected Length of Trip: I know that re-entry permit is issued for 2 years. Is it OK to write "4 years" in this field? Or should it be at most 2 years?
2 - Address: I will be moving out of my apartment in a month. I will maintain a different US address. I will also submit a "Change of Address" application in a few weeks. Which one makes more sense?
- To specify my current address? Re-entry permit is sent to my current address and forwarded to the new address or because of "Change of Address" application, it's directly sent to the new address.
- To specify my new address? Is is OK to do this before submitting the "Change of Address" application?
- To specify the Canadian address? I'd rather specify a US address, just to be on the safe side.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
