Filling I-485 with attorney vs no individual

Does anyone know if there is any pending time frame difference between asylees who file I-485 through an attorney vs those who did it without an attorney. A friend of mine indicated there is a quota assigned to I-485s filled via attorneys so the wait for those who filed through an attorney may be shorter. Has anyone heard about this?

That has to be the biggest load of bull I ever heard. Does your friend work for an attorney?

This is by no means trying to discourage you from using an attorney, but if you have a straight-forward case (no criminal backgrounds, etc) you can apply yourself. Save yourself some money and time.

If you do go with an attorney, ask on this board for recommendations.

BTW, I applied myself

My asylum case was filed on early 1997 but they sat on my case till 2003 – It’s frustrating and painful to see all these people who came after me get greencards as I wait and rot in misery. I got this info from a reliable case
