I've been working with the IT firm from last six years now. They've filled my GC application in March 2003. It seems that my application is now gone in backlog center. My lawyer/employer have not received any 45 day notice. I've around 14 months left in completing six year of H1B.
In between, my cousin's IT firm is willing to file my GC application thorugh PERM process from his company. In this situation, I've following questions:
1. Is it okay to file from other company even if your present company has filed your GC application?Is there any risk
associate with this (filing from other company) that I should be aware of? Just to let you know that I do not have any intention to transfer my H1B to his company.
2. If yes, then do I need to join his company in future during my GC process from his company?
